At Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, we're reaching out with a desperate plea for help. Our longest-stay dogs, who have been waiting patiently for months even years, now face an imminent crisis: our adoption center is closing, and we urgently need fosters for these incredible dogs who have already endured so much.

These dogs have spent their lives in the shelter, and for many, it's all they've known. The thought of losing even that stability is heartbreaking. Now, more than ever, they need a safe, loving home to decompress, feel loved, and continue their journey to find their forever homes.

The need is urgent. Time is running out, and without fosters, we cannot give these dogs a chance. To support those who step up, we are offering a $500 stipend to anyone who fosters one of these dogs. We will also provide full support, guidance, and all necessary supplies—you're never alone in this journey.

What they need most is simple:

• A temporary home while we work to find their perfect adopter

About Homeward Trails Animal Rescue

Founded in 2002, Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that rescues thousands of dogs and cats each year from under-resourced shelters and communities, both locally and internationally. We also serve as a source of education and outreach in communities in need, offering spay/neuter services and other lifesaving resources.

In 2023, we were gifted a beautiful 52-acre farm in Delaplane, VA, where we are able to house rescued animals while they wait for foster homes or adoption. This property will serve as a temporary home for the dogs who cannot yet find fosters before our new location opens in the coming year.

However, we need you to help make that interim care possible. Fostering one of these dogs right now means giving them a chance at a brighter future.
