Little Big Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving and improving the lives of dogs through rescue, rehabilitation, training, adoption, and community education.
Based in Christiansburg in the New River Valley, LBDR works to save dogs from local high-risk shelters and assists with owner surrenders as foster space allows. Each dog will be vetted —including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, etc. —before being placed in a loving foster home to prepare for adoption.
With a focus on both medical and behavioral rehabilitation, LBDR ensures every dog has the best chance at a successful "furever" home. The organization also supports the community through education on responsible dog ownership, training, and breed-specific care.
💛 Special Initiative: Senior Dog Retention Fund
Helping senior dogs stay in loving homes by assisting owners with veterinary cost. The goal is to help reduce stress for the owners and improve the quality of life of the pet all while keeping owner and pet together and keep senior dogs in loving homes and out of shelters.
